Mary and Dewey Parr

Hi!... We are Dewey and Mary Parr. Our goal and purpose is to preserve the Outer Banks and Cape Hatteras, North Carolina’s history and folklore.

It is our pleasure to share with you our lives, and about life on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Dewey’s mother’s family was a seafaring family named Gray. The Gray family and their descendants have inhabited Hatteras Island since the early sixteen hundred.

Dewey’s childhood was spent in the village of Buxton. It is his greatest pleasure to share his memories of the happy hours he spent roaming the woods and beaches of Hatteras Island. He has many memories to share of daily events that occurred on the Island as he was growing up in the 1930’s.

We hope you take the time to view our web-site and learn more about the joy of living on Cape Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
